The next thing to fall apart. Wrestling has been high very, very hard by the Coronavirus and things are as shaky as they have ever been throughout the industry. That is the kind of thing that is going to have some huge side effects that we never would have seen coming. While there are a lot of things being wrecked in front of the camera, there is now something else being changed outside of the ring.
Wrestling has all kinds of different forms of merchandise. There has been everything from shirts to toys to DVDs to life rafts to toasters and WWE is not going to stop until they have to. The spread of the Coronavirus has slowed things down quite a bit and now, it is going to cause a major change to something that WWE has been doing for over thirty years now and loves to hype up.
According to former WWE video game writer Justin Leper, WWE2K21 has been canceled and will not be released. Instead, a different kind of WWE game will be released this fall. This comes after WWE2K20 received negative reviews due to several glitches that rendered parts of the game unplayable. At the moment, there are still plans for WWE2K22 to be released in 2022.
There is a lot to unpack here. Check out the report, plus some of the amazing glitches from last year’s game:

Opinion: This is about all you can expect from the companies as the game can’t be completed in the current climate. There can’t be any motion capture for the wrestlers at the moment so the best thing that can be done is to postpone the game. After last year’s horrible edition, there is only so much that you can do with the short turnaround. Let them take a year off and get it right, which might have been the best move with or without all of this year’s insanity.
