That’s never good. While it is nowhere near as popular as it was before, there is no denying the size and power of the WWE. The company is the biggest and most successful wrestling promotion in the world and has all kinds of resources available to them. However, that does not mean that everything is going to work out for them and they might be in a bit of trouble at the moment.
One of the biggest things that WWE has going for it is its online presence. The company has a huge social media status and millions of followers on various platforms. That has only come in the last several years, but WWE has had a presence online far before social media for the better part of twenty five years. There are still bugs to work out though, and one of them has flared up in a big way.
According to Heelbynature.com, WWE is being sued by a legally blind man who claims he is unable to access the WWE’s online shop. The man, Josue Romero, uses special software which offers a description of what is being shown on the website but WWE’s shop does not include such text, making it harder for him to access. Romero is suing to force WWE to update their website and for his legal costs, claiming that it is in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. WWE has not issued a response to the lawsuit.
WWE merchandise has taken a beating before. Check out some of its worse moments:
Opinion: This is one of those things that should have been done before and WWE should be able to fix it up without much effort. It is the kind of thing that can probably be fixed by someone adding in the appropriate text to make it accessible for everyone. I know it will be inconvenient, but how bad would they look by fighting against the lawsuit? Hopefully it doesn’t go badly, because there is little reason to argue against the entire situation.
