Well that’s a surprise. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in WWE and it can be interesting to see what they are all doing from week to week. To make things even more complicated, there are multiple unique rosters in WWE, some of which are on a higher level than others. NXT is the official WWE developmental roster and a call up can be a great thing for a wrestler’s career. This time though, things are a little more confusing.
Last weekend at WWE Clash At The Castle, Solo Sikoa made his main roster debut, aiding cousin Roman Reigns in retaining the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. Sikoa went on to wrestle in the main event of the following week’s SmackDown, suggesting he was a full time SmackDown wrestler. However, Sikoa appeared as a surprise this week on NXT, where he defeated Carmelo Hayes to win the NXT North American Title. It is not clear what this means for Sikoa’s roster status.
Opinion: This just got a good bit more interesting, as Sikoa showing up on NXT would initially feel like he was being demoted. The problem with that is you don’t often demote someone and then give them the biggest win of their career. I’m not sure what Sikoa is going to be doing, but it is interesting to see that they are trying something different with him and I want to know where it is heading.
What did you think of the title change? What is next for Sikoa? Let us know in the comments below.
