Nice to meet you? There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and with so many wrestlers available, the company has to put them into several different groups. While there are two main rosters, there is also the NXT roster, which serves as the official developmental system for WWE. Someone being promoted is a big deal, and we almost saw it again recently.
With so many talented wrestlers on the NXT roster, it can be difficult to stand out. Some wrestlers have managed to do it though and one of the easiest ways is through their physical presence. Being a bigger wrestler helps a lot, but it helps if you have the wrestling and talking ability to back it up. We might be seeing someone with all of those qualities moving up to the main roster.
According to Fightful Select, Damian Priest was expected to be moved up to the main roster last week, with the plan for him to be sent to SmackDown. This comes after a post from the WrestleVotes Twitter account saying that a wrestler on this week’s NXT New Year’s Evil special was being added to the Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens feud. It is not clear why Priest was not called up last week or if the plan is still in place.
Just heard an interesting story… NXT talent was slated to be called up to SmackDown last week, as of showtime, was written into the main event segment w/ Reigns, Uso & KO. Said talent is on tonight’s big NXT card so curious to see if it was pushed a week or scrapped altogether.

You’ll get to know him. Check out Priest in action:
Opinion: That sounds great in a way but at the same time it sounds dreadful. At the end of the day, WWE does not have the best track record when it comes to bringing wrestlers from NXT to the main roster. Priest is an outstanding talent and stands out in NXT, but I’m not sure how he would be used on the main roster. It is a necessary upgrade at some point though, as Priest is too good to keep in NXT. Just please don’t mess it up.
