Not so fast. Every now and then you are going to get some different versions of a story that comes out. Maybe the details are wrong or something has changed going forward, but the story can change dramatically on just a moment’s notice. Sometimes these details can change the story entirely and that is the case with a recent story about the status of a current WWE star.
One of the biggest stories of the week was Raw Legends, which was built around the return of various legendary wrestlers to Monday Night Raw. That is an important status to reach for a wrestler’s future, but at the same time, it means that your in-ring career is likely over. A seemingly active WWE wrestler’s status had seemed to change, but that might not actually be the case.
On Monday, a report came out that Mickie James was now considered a WWE legend rather than a regular wrestler, despite being in the ring as recently as September. However, according to Inside The Ropes, James is not retired as an in-ring competitor and is able to wrestle. WWE is just not booking her for matches for an unknown reason. It is not clear if James will be getting back in the ring anytime soon.
Opinion: I’m rather glad to hear that as James would be able to add a lot to the current women’s division, if nothing else just by putting over the younger generation. She has a history and resume in WWE and that is the kind of thing that can help bring newer stars a very long way. Maybe WWE has a reason for keeping her out of the ring, but it would be great to see her get back in sooner rather than later.
