Good for them. We are in the middle of some very trying times at the moment, between the Coronavirus pandemic and the riots and protests taking place around the country. As a result, a lot of people are under a lot of stress and that is not going to change anytime soon. It isn’t clear when things are really going to get better, but WWE is doing what they can to make things easier.
WWE is such a large company that they are able to access resources that not everyone else can touch. With the amount of money that they have available, they can help their employees in a variety of ways. Sometimes that can be a very good thing for a lot of people involved in a situation and hopefully that is the case again at the moment, when a lot of people need help.
According to PWInsider.com, Vince McMahon has sent out an email to all WWE employees addressing their support of diversity. In addition, all WWE employees will have access to 24/7 mental health counseling should they need it, a special email address for anyone who feels the need to discuss diversity concerns in the company, and links to various diversity training courses that WWE is offering to its employees for free. There is no word on if any of this will be made public.
This seems appropriate here. Check out WWE’s tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that might help some people in the company and if that is the case, good for them. WWE is at least making an effort to do something about a very intense situation and if it helps things out then that’s an improvement. I have no idea how much of this is an actual help and how much of it is lip service, but at least it is better than nothing at all.
Will this help WWE? What else could they do? Let us know in the comments below.
