He’s the one? WWE has had several different eras throughout its history and some of them have been very notably different. This included the PG Era, which saw WWE focusing on the family friendly content, which has led to quite the financial boom for the company. At the same time, it has not been well received by the fans, but now a legend is saying that one specific wrestler is responsible for one of the changes in the PG Era.

WWE Hall Of Famer and former WWE producer Sgt. Slaughter was interviewed by SportsKeeda’s WrestleBinge and talked about some of the changes. Slaughter said that he was told CM Punk dropped an F bomb on television, causing Vince McMahon to script more of the promos. McMahon was allegedly scared of losing his sponsors and television if something was adlibbed on television.

Opinion: Assuming this is true, that is quite the change for WWE after one incident. I can understand the idea of McMahon being scared of what might happen if things got out of hand, but taking complete control off of a single incident might have been a bit too far. Thankfully WWE has lightened up on this a bit over the last year or so, as having the same voices over and over isn’t going to do WWE any good.
