You had to expect something like this. Now if there is one thing that WWE has done over the years, it is adhere to their strict, long established set of rules. They have set things up under one set of guidelines and the…..yeah of course not. WWE makes up their own rules for whatever situation is going on at the moment. That is the case again due to what is taking place right now.
The spread of the Coronavirus has changed all kinds of things around the world, including slowing down the possibility of international travel. A lot of countries are not going to allow people to come or go at the moment for the sake of keeping the virus from spreading around the world. This includes various WWE champions and now the company needs to do something about it.
During this week’s edition of the Bump, NXT General Manager William Regal announced that due to Jordan Devlin being stuck in the United Kingdom, an interim Cruiserweight Champion will be crowned. The title will be awarded to the winner of an eight man tournament, with participants and matches to be announced in the coming days. Regal also promised an update on the status of Pete Dunne, who is half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, in the next week or so.
As I just announced on @WWETheBump, we will soon begin a tournament to crown an interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion as the current champion, @Jordan_Devlin1 is unable to compete due to the situation in the world.
I will update everyone once all the details are ironed out.

Devlin deserves a chance to keep the title. Check out some of his better work:
Opinion: I can go for something like this as there are only so many ways to deal with this situation. The whole international aspect of the disease is only going to allow so many stories to continue so something like this has to be done. It’s annoying, but you have a guaranteed title match set up as soon as Devlin is available again. If nothing else, it gives some people something to do for the time being and that’s a good thing.
Who will be the Interim champion? Will they dethrone Devlin? Let us know in the comments below.
