You probably shouldn’t be surprised. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way the world works and wrestling is no different. There is very little that can be done to keep everything safe but WWE does what it can to make things work. However, WWE tried to plow ahead with WrestleMania 37 anyway and it was not the most successful move in the world.

Prior to WrestleMania 37, WWE had not had a significant amount of fans present for an event since March 2020. This has caused several changes to the way WWE works but there is only so much that can be done to keep the fans, as well as the wrestlers, safe. WWE was taking a risk by having fans in attendance, and it seems that things have gone bad, at least on a small scale.

According to John Pollock of Post Wrestling, a fan who attended a variety of independent wrestling events over WrestleMania weekend as well as both nights of WrestleMania 37 has tested positive for the Coronavirus. So far, this is one of the few fans to have announced a positive diagnosis. The fan responded, saying that he was not angry and knew the risk associated with going to the events.

In addition to both nights of WrestleMania, the fan also attended Jimmy Lloyd’s D-Generation F, Bloodsport and Spring Break, all of which took place in the days leading up to WrestleMania. There is no word on any other fans who attended the events possibly being infected. Most of the non-WWE events featured a small number of fans, with some of them having less than 100 people in attendance.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that was destined to happen because there is no way to guarantee that the fans are entirely safe. You could see several fans without masks during WrestleMania and having that many people in one place is destined to cause something like this. Hopefully everyone winds up being safe, but this is something that was going to happen no matter what.

As far as the world has come while fighting the Coronavirus, there are still all kinds of issues to deal with before the problem is done. I’m not sure how well this is going to go for WWE, as there is still no word on when the shows are going to be able to be back at full strength again. What matters most here is everyone’s health though, so hopefully they understand what is wrong and get things fixed up.
