They barely made it. Wrestling has been turned upside down in recent days and there is no indication that it is going to get any better anytime soon. There are only so many ways for wrestling companies to do things at this point and that means they have to get creative. WWE has been doing that with some of their programming as of late, though it was a risky move this week.
This week’s NXT was a special edition which featured no original wrestling and instead featured some long form videos on some of the big stories currently going on in NXT. There were some last minute changes made, as the footage tying the videos together was filmed earlier in the day. That left the production team very little time to waste and it turns out that it was more complicated than it seemed.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, most of the material that aired on this week’s NXT was filmed on Tuesday, including all of the interviews with Rhea Ripley, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. As a result, the show had to be edited together in a hurry, with the episode being completed just before it went on the air. There is no word on when NXT will air new wrestling next.
It was a rather packed show. Check out some of the awesome video packages from this week’s NXT:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised by this as the show certainly did not have a lot of time to be put together. What matters though is they came up with a different kind of show and didn’t have the same awkward looking matches in front of no fans. This is a weird time for the company and this is about as good as it is going to get for them at the moment. It was a good show though and that’s what made for a fun night.
