WATCH: Wrestling Legend Makes Surprise Appearance On AEW Dynamite

There he is. While there have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout history, there are very few who have reached an iconic status. Those are the wrestlers who have become bigger stars than almost anyone else and will receive a reaction no matter what they do whenever they appear. That was the case again this week, as one of the biggest legends in wrestling history made a special appearance.

Last week on AEW Dynamite, Sting announced that his retirement match will take place at Revolution 2024. Following his announcement, AEW President Tony Khan announced that he would have a special surprise for Sting this week on Dynamite. The surprise was Ric Flair, who made his AEW debut and praised Sting while talking about their history. Flair implied that he would be appearing again but it was not formally announced.

Opinion: Whether you like Flair or not, there is no way around the fact that he is one of the biggest stars in wrestling history. He still means a good deal in wrestling and having him around makes for a special moment. That was true again here, as he almost had to show up for one of Sting’s final appearances. They have such a history together and it was nice to see them together again.
