Can you blame them? There are all kinds of talented wrestlers in the world but they do not all work for WWE or AEW. That does not mean those promotions won’t go after them if available though and that can make for a very interesting situation. The stakes can go even higher when multiple promotions are interested in the same star and that is already the case with a former World Champion.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is interested in signing Will Ospreay and will be pursuing him once Ospreay’s current contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expires in early 2024. Ospreay is expected to receive offers from at least WWE, AEW and Impact Wrestling, though it is not clear where he will sign. Ospreay, 30 years old, is a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and the reigning IWGP United States Champion.

He’s been around. Check out Ospreay’s recent efforts:

Opinion: I don’t think it’s any surprise that the biggest wrestling promotion in the world would be interested in one of the biggest free agents available. I’m not sure where Ospreay is going to sign but he is going to have all kinds of suitors and WWE is always worth a listen. AEW would seem to be the clubhouse leader, but stranger things have happened and WWE is certainly a viable option.
