He’s multi-talented. Wrestling is a unique profession as most wrestlers are not going to be doing this until they are in their 60s. It is too physical of a sport and most people get out of it far before then. However, that means they have to find something else to do with the rest of their lives and that can be kind of tricky. Occasionally someone finds success in another field, but that doesn’t mean wrestling is out of their system for good.
Kane is one of the most unique wrestlers of all time. Not just because of what he did in the ring, but moreso because of what he did once he retired from wrestling full time. He went from being a wrestler to being Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, putting him in charge of a fairly large area. That isn’t something you see every day, but his connection to wrestling is rather strong and he put it in display in a recent interview.
Kane was the third guest on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions interview series, which included a long discussion about his career and time in the wrestling business. To promote the show, a short clip was included released on the WWE YouTube channel, showing Kane impersonating various wrestlers. Several of them were names who Kane was long associated with in wrestling while others were a little more outside of his area.
Some of these are pretty good. Check out Kane’s impressions, plus one of his most famous segments ever in a similar vein:
Opinion: I know these aren’t the best in the world but it’s always fun to see wrestlers make some lighthearted fun of each other. Kane might not have been a top level star for his entire career, but he was round for a VERY long time and went on to one of the most unique post wrestling careers ever. It’s nice that he still pops up from time to time and hopefully he can be successful in his office.
