There’s your shot across the bow. To say that things have picked up in the battle between WWE and AEW since AEW debuted its weekly Dynamite show debuted is an understatement. Both shows regularly take mini jabs at each other, plus a few right crosses on occasion. It has made things more interesting, but now we have seen one of the biggest haymakers of the entire stretch.
This week, TNT released a new advertisement for Dynamite. The video features various quotes from media outlets about how the show was better than and had beaten NXT. It is not clear if AEW had any direct influence on the commercial. WWE has not made any reference to the commercial. The two shows began airing opposite each other on October 2 when NXT moved to the USA network and expanded to two hours. So far, NXT has won every week in the ratings, but has lost two straight weeks in overall viewership.
This is going to get people talking. Check out the commercial plus some responses from Twitter:

Opinion: I’m not sure what to think of something like this, but it is certainly something that will get some attention. This is a direct show from the AEW network at NXT, but things have not been trending in the right direction for them. I’m not sure how hard I would poke NXT though, as WWE has a lot more resources than AEW. It’s going to get interesting though, and I’m curious to see where it goes.
