Tournaments are awesome! One of the top announcements of the week was Daniel Bryan setting up a tournament for the suddenly vacant US Title. Former champion Dolph Ziggler vacated the title last week and now we need a new champion to be crowned. That’s what tournaments will be for and now we know the rest of the details behind the entire thing.
WWE has released a video detailing the tournament, including the full brackets (with two matches that have already taken place, as mentioned in the video) and an announcement that the title match will take place at “Royal Rumble 2018”. This is the first time the full brackets have been released. Here are the brackets:
Bobby Roode
Baron Corbin
Zack Ryder
Mojo Rawley
Jinder Mahal
Tye Dillinger
Xavier Woods
Aiden English
Keep in mind that Roode and Mahal have already advanced.
Here’s the announcement:
U.S. Championship Tournament bracket revealed: WWE Now
Opinion: Now I might not have the best eyesight in the world, but I’m failing to see the name RUSEV in this list. Rusev has gone from a solid midcarder to the most over heel on the roster in a short time. I’m not sure how long that’s going to go, but unless they swap him in for English (which they might), I have no idea what WWE is thinking here in not putting Rusev in the tournament.
Who do you think wins the tournament? Who do you want to win it? Let us know in the comments below.
