It has to go somewhere. The Money in the Bank contract is one of the biggest game changers that WWE has to offer. A wrestler can use it to jump to the front of the line and become World Champion in a single match. That isn’t something you get to see very often but someone has to do it in the right way or the whole thing is going to miss. We might be seeing that at the moment.

Back in May, Otis became the new Mr. Money in the Bank in quite the surprise. Otis had been gaining steam in recent months and had even defeated Dolph Ziggler at WrestleMania 36 in a pretty big surprise. The briefcase seemed to make him ready to become the next Universal Champion, but the lack of in-person fans made things a little more complicated. Otis has lost a lot of steam in recent months and it might not end well.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE has no plans for Otis to continue as Mr. Money in the Bank and is moving towards taking the briefcase away from him. Last week on SmackDown, the Miz and John Morrison sued Otis but offered him a way out by forfeiting the briefcase. This is designed as a way to get the briefcase away from Otis, who will not be moving towards the World Title scene.

Leave the memories alone. Check out Otis’ strong run this year:

Opinion: Really, this might be the best thing for everyone other than Otis. I know it was a fun moment to see Otis win the briefcase, but at the same time there was only so much that could be done with him in this spot. With Roman Reigns becoming the new monster Universal Champion, Otis isn’t exactly the kind of person who was going to crack into the main event. It isn’t the best long term planning, but it is what makes the most sense.

What do you think of the move? Who would get the briefcase? Let us know in the comments below.
