We might know where things are going. Summerslam took place less than two days ago and while that means we are still in the fallout phase of the show, it is already time to get started on the build towards the next show. That would be Clash of Champions, which takes place on September 15. With over a month to go before the show, WWE already seems to know where things are going.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the planned main event for the Clash of Champions pay per view is Braun Strowman challenging Seth Rollins for the Universal Title. This match was teased at the end of this week’s Monday Night Raw when Strowman saved Rollins from a beatdown by the OC. The reason Strowman is being given the spot is that there is no other option at the moment, with only Drew McIntyre being a possible other challenger.
Strowman did help Rollins out. Check out the end of Monday Night Raw:
Opinion: This is something that makes enough sense as there are only so many people who can challenge Rollins at the moment. Brock Lesnar vs. Rollins has been done multiple times now and there really isn’t another viable option. Monday Night Raw has a lot of talent but there are very few names who have gone from the midcard all the way up to the main event scene. Therefore, Strowman is the best choice they have.
