Indeed? You might remember Taka Michinoku. The first (modern) WWF Light Heavyweight Champion was a mainstay of the Attitude Era both as a high flying singles wrestler and one half of the comedy Kaientai team. While he’s still performing in Japan, Michinoku got some great news that never gets old.
According to WWE.com, which is translating a Tweet in Michinoku’s native Japanese, Michinoku became a father earlier this week. The baby, whose gender and name weren’t mentioned, was announced on Tuesday. Michinoku, now 43, recently competed in New Japan’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament where he finished next to last in his block.
Opinion: This is the kind of news that is always cool to hear. Michinoku hasn’t been around WWE for a long time now but he was a fun character and the Kaientai stuff was always entertaining. He also had a shockingly awesome match with Triple H where he came pretty close to winning the WWF World Title. Good for him.
