That opens up some doors for Sting. Wrestling is in a weird place at the moment and it could be a long time before things get back to normal. Only a handful of companies are producing new in-ring content and that can cause some issues for the entire industry. There are still things going on around the wrestling world though, and one of those things might involve a legend making an appearance.

It is rare to find a legend who is truly above the majority of the wrestling world. Every now and then you’ll see this kind of a name pop up though and whenever they do something, it can make headlines. WWE has most of these names either under regular contracts or some sort of a legends deal, but one of the bigger names of the last thirty years has gotten away from them as of late.

According to Prowrestlingsheet.com, Sting’s WWE contract has come to an end, meaning that he could go to any wrestling promotion he wants. This comes after Sting tweeted with AEW names Lance Archer and Jake Roberts, though there is no word on Sting signing with the company. There is still a chance that WWE and Sting could come to another agreement in the future as there is no word on any animosity on either side.

Sting is kind of a big deal. Check out what he’s done over the years:

Opinion: I’m not sure what to think of this. For the life of me I don’t want or need to see Sting wrestle again. He is 61 years old and hasn’t looked all that great in the ring for the better part of ten years. Couple that with his neck injury near the end of his WWE run and there is no reason to risk anything. I could see him as an ambassador of some sort, but there is no need to have him work a match.
