You have to start them off in a big way. There are a lot of wrestling shows to watch every week and even more to watch every month. With so many cards to fill, it is a guarantee that some of them are going to be less well received than others. Maybe it is due to the wrestling not working, the build not being strong enough or the venue and crowd not being the best choices. Or sometimes it’s the rare instance of all of those things at once, plus just a general dislike of the show in general. That is coming up this week with Crown Jewel, but it has to start somewhere.

This week on Monday Night Raw, the Crown Jewel Kickoff Show match was announced. The match will be a twenty man battle royal with the winner receiving a United States Title shot against AJ Styles later that night on the regular show. This match was announced in advance last week, though this was the first announcement of the match taking place on the Kickoff Show. It is not currently known if there will be a second match added to the Kickoff Show, which will begin at 12pm EST on October 31.

The participants have been announced and here they are:

Sunil Singh, Mojo Rawley, Erick Rowan, R-Truth, Sin Cara, The Brian Kendrick, Titus O’Neil, Tony Nese, Akira Tozawa, Shelton Benjamin, Apollo Crews, Buddy Murphy, Andrade, Drake Maverick, Eric Young, Luke Harper, Cedric Alexander, Heath Slater, Humberto Carrillo, No Way Jose

Styles has been in action against a few of the contenders as of late. Check out him facing two of the potential challengers:

Opinion: This is one of the most tried and true ideas that exists in wrestling and there is no reason to not try it all over again. Styles can wrestle against anyone you throw out there against him and it would make a lot of sense to get him out the card. What matters most here though is having something entertaining, which is where someone like Alexander, Carrillo or Murphy would come in. There are a few names that you can easily write off, though some of these names make a lot of sense. You can pencil in one of a handful of names, but a surprise is always a possibility.

Who do you think wins the battle royal? Will Styles lose the title? Let us know in the comments below.
