Welcome back, in bigger numbers. A crowd is one of the most important parts of a wrestling show. They pump up the energy in the arena and let the wrestlers know what they think of what is being presented. That is the kind of thing that can make all the difference in the world and while they have not been around at a high level in recent months, that might not be a problem for much longer.

The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way everything works over the course of the year and that is going to be the kind of change that you feel for a long time to come. In addition to all of them changes that take place in the ring, one of the biggest changes has been the lack of fans in the crowd. AEW has had a few fans but WWE has had even fewer for months now. That may be changing sooner rather than later.

According to NBA.com, the Toronto Raptors will be playing their home games in the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, with regular season games having up to 3,800 fans in attendance. This could suggest that both WWE and AEW, which are currently holding shows exclusively in Florida, will be having more fans than they are currently allowed. AEW has been allowing about 1,000 fans to its television tapings while WWE has had no fans at Monday Night Raw and SmackDown since March.

They can mean a lot. Check out what a crowd reaction can do:

Opinion: We’re firmly in the “I’ll believe this when I see it” phase of this as WWE having fans back any day now has been the case for far too long now. AEW having a few fans back has not meant all that much, though it has been an upgrade over the time without them. Hopefully the fans are back sooner than later, but it’s hard to imagine it actually happening so soon in the future.
