They don’t seem happy. We are officially into 2021 and that means the year 2020 is starting to fade into memory a bit more every day. There were a lot of changes that took place in the wrestling world over the course of last year and some of them were not exactly the best. Some people are not thrilled with how the year went and that could have an impact on the upcoming year.

The biggest story of 2020 was the Coronavirus, which changed the lives of almost everyone in the country and a good chunk of the world. This was certainly true of the wrestling industry, which looks almost nothing like it did prior to the pandemic. WWE was not immune to everything that went down and now some of its wrestlers are not wild on the future changes.

According to Fightful Select, WWE made several contract offers to various wrestlers near the end of 2020 but the wrestlers were disappointed in the specifics. These same wrestlers were offered larger deals at the same time the previous year, but the Coronavirus pandemic has lowered WWE’s income, meaning that they do not have as much money to offer. The wrestlers are expected to be more interested in signing when things are back to normal, with the company being willing to wait. There is no word on who the wrestlers are or when their contracts will expire.

Opinion: I can’t say I’m overly surprised by either side, as the company is not bringing in as much money, which leaves them with less to offer the wrestlers. At the same time, WWE understands that this is not going to last forever and there is still time left to sign the wrestlers to new deals. What matters most is keeping them away from AEW, and that seems to be a strong possibility in the future.
