Welcome back. There are a lot of reasons that a wrestler might take time away from television and some of them are a lot more serious than others. While a lot of wrestlers might miss some time due to injuries, there is also the less common reason, such as some sort of legal issue. That was the case with a WWE star, but now things seem to have changed a bit.

One of the scariest stories of 2020 was that of Sonya Deville, whose home was invaded by a stalker who seemed intent on hurting or even killing Deville. Thankfully Deville escaped her house and the man is currently in jail, but the whole incident took Deville off of television to deal with the situation. Deville has not been seen since Summerslam in August, but the new year has brought a new development.

During this week’s edition of SmackDown, Deville made an appearance backstage, marking her return to the company. Commentary said that Deville had been reinstated to the company, following her loss to Mandy Rose in a Loser Leaves WWE match at Summerslam. Deville did not say anything and was only shown walking through the hallway with other wrestlers looking at her in surprise.

Opinion: I’m rather glad to see Deville back as she was really coming into her own over the summer. She was nailing the promos and her matches were getting better, making it even worse to see her go. That being said, the situation that took place was entirely more important than wrestling and something that needed more of her attention. It’s great to see Deville on the show again, as she could be a big deal in the women’s division in a hurry.
