Open for business. The wrestling world has a bit more of a buzz than in recent years and a lot of that is due to AEW. With WWE no longer being the only well funded nationally televised promotion around, various wrestlers now have another place to showcase themselves. That makes the talent all the more valuable, but there are other promotions out there besides the main two. Now one of them is losing a valuable name.

Impact Wrestling may not get the same attention as AEW and WWE but they have a lot of good things going on. One of their better strengths is the tag team division, which has become rather deep in recent years. The teams at the top can hang with anyone, but one of the company’s top teams is likely being split up, as one of the members is no longer under contract.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champion Ethan Page’s contract has officially expired, making him a free agent. Page also pulled all of his merchandise off of his own website, which is often seen as a suggestion that someone is going to WWE, though nothing has been confirmed. WWE, AEW, MLW and Impact Wrestling are all said to have had talks with Page.

Opinion: Page is an interesting curiosity as he has more charisma than he knows what to do with but has never been allowed to really showcase himself on a major platform. That might be changing now and I wonder how Page is going to be presented wherever he winds up. A series of free agent signings like this could change the way wrestling looks going forward and that could be a rather good thing indeed. Hopefully Page is the first success of many.
