That’s what they want. The Coronavirus has changed a lot of things in wrestling, including the way people look on a day to day basis. A good number of people are now wearing medical masks more often than not and that is a positive thing. Not everyone wears them for one reason or another though and that doesn’t sit well with others. Now, it might change things in WWE.
For the last three and a half months, WWE has been forced to run its events out of the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with no fans in attendance. Some NXT wrestlers have been standing in as a makeshift crowd, which has worked well enough for the time being. One thing has been missing from some of them though and some wrestlers are having a problem with it.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, at least two main roster wrestlers have said that they will not be returning to WWE’s television tapings until everyone present not involved in a match is wearing a mask. In addition, some wrestlers are considering not appearing whatsoever for the time being. There is no word on who these wrestlers are or what WWE’s opinion is of them considering sitting out.
Do the masks bother you? Check out how this week’s SmackDown looked with extra masks:
Opinion: I don’t get WWE’s obsession with not wanting masks on the people around the arena. What difference could it possibly make to most fans at home? Are the people watching on TV going to be taken out of it by seeing masks? I’m more taken out of it by seeing wrestlers that I recognize watching the shows. These demands are far from ridiculous and I would hope to see them implemented. Why not go with something that makes this much sense?
