What an odd name. There are a lot of ways to present a wrestling show, but one of the most common these days is to just put a theme for the show on the marquee. That is the kind of thing that WWE does more often than any other promotion, as a lot of their show titles explain exactly what you are going to be seeing at the event. That is going to be the case again, but with kind of a strange other side.

We are less than a month away from WWE Extreme Rules and the card is starting to come together. With so many things going on for the show, it is clear that WWE is going to need to have some plans for what they have on the card. WWE has a lot of different ways to present a show, but they might need something a little different than just having the matches on the show. They might have a strange way of going about it this time.

The WWE.com preview of Extreme Rules now lists the show’s title as “Extreme Rules: The Horror Show.” The name appears twice in the preview for both announced matches, though the show’s logo has not been changed. There is no word on why the name was changed and WWE has not made such a reference on their television shows. Extreme Rules airs on the WWE Network on July 19.

The show has a history without a subtitle. Check out some of the show’s moments:

Opinion: The Horror Show? What about this show, aside from what is likely going to be a Bray Wyatt cinematic style match, is going to be horror themed? Who thinks of a show in July as a horror themed show? I’m not sure what the point of the name is, but maybe they can change things up later on. It’s certainly a tag line, but so is Extreme Rules. Do they really need a second?
