So what are they doing now? One of the most interesting things over the course of the year has been talents trying to leave WWE. After decades of WWE being the dominant force in wrestling, there is now another high level company for the wrestlers to go. That changes everything up and has made a lot of wrestlers attempt to get out of their contracts and head elsewhere. WWE does not see things exactly the same though and that does not seem to be changing anytime soon.
Earlier this week, Sin Cara announced on his Twitter account that he had officially requested his release from his WWE contract. This is the latest name on a list of people who have done exactly the same, including Luke Harper and Mike Kanellis. However, none of them have been released from the company as WWE has made it clear that they are not going to be letting anyone out of their deals. However, not everyone in the company believes that to be the best idea.
So we won’t be seeing this. Check out some great firings:
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there are two backstage camps in regards to allowing wrestlers to leave. One group agrees with the WWE stance by saying that no one is going to be released or fired from their contracts no matter what. At the same time, the other camp believes that they should be let go if they are unhappy to allow other talents to get a chance. However, nothing seems likely to change in regards to the talents not being released. There is no reason to believe that Sin Cara will be released either.
Or maybe you prefer an old school version. Check out Gorilla Monsoon firing Bobby Heenan:
Opinion: I can’t say I disagree with either side here, which makes for a bit of a problem. It’s true that these talents want out of their deals and that is understandable, but at the same time, they signed the deals that they are currently under. Why should WWE let them out of deals that the wrestlers signed under complete freedom? It might not be the nicest thing from an outside perspective, but no one made them sign with WWE and it’s not like they’re slaves. It may not look good, but WWE has no reason to let them go.
