Even he can admit that he’s wrong. Love him or hate him, Vince McMahon is the most important and powerful man in all of professional wrestling both today and of all time. That is not going to change anytime soon as he has been the biggest driving force behind the scenes to turn WWE into the biggest professional wrestling organization in the world. That means his opinions matter more than just about anyone else so if you can make him change his mind about something, you are doing something right.

The Attitude Era offered a lot of huge and memorable moments for wrestling fans, though some of them stand out above the rest. One of these is This Is Your Life Rock, featuring Mick Foley attempting to honor his friend and tag team partner but having things go a little haywire. The segment went on for the better part of half an hour and McMahon was not happy with the whole situation. However, it turns out that he had to admit that he was wrong and Foley himself has an interesting take on it.

The segment was so incredible. Check out some highlights:

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer recounted Foley telling a story about the incident at a recent stand up comedy show. According to Meltzer, Foley said McMahon had not been a fan of the segment as it aired live due to how long it went on, to the point where McMahon was considering coming to the ring to stop the segment on live television. However, the next day, Rock and Foley went to talk to McMahon after the segment drew a record 8.4 television rating. After failing to hide behind the couch in his office, McMahon admitted that the segment worked, though still said it went on too long.

I think we need some more. Here is one more highlight from the segment:

Opinion: This story has been told in a few variations before but the hiding behind the couch detail is a new one. The idea of a billionaire literally hiding behind a couch to avoid admitting that he was wrong about something is one of the most McMahon things imaginable and I don’t doubt it happened for a second. The segment really was one of a kind, which has been shown in the multiple lame recreations over time. You can’t always do something again and this is proof.

What was your favorite line of the whole thing? What else would make McMahon hide behind a couch? Let us know in the comments below.
