It was bound to happen. On Saturday night, AEW presented full Gear, which featured a rather dangerous and painful main event. The match saw Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley in a lights out, unsanctioned match which had no rules and anything was allowed. The match included broken glass, a barbed wire spiderweb, a board of mousetraps and a lot of barbed wire. The match saw both of them destroyed and in various levels of pain, but it turns out that one of them was in worse condition than the other.

After the match was over, Omega sent out a tweet, updating fans on his health status after the match at Full Gear. Omega lost the match when Moxley gave him an elevated Paradigm Shift onto the exposed boards underneath the mat. This came after he had barbed wire raked over his back, a drop onto broken glass, and suplexed Moxley onto the barbed wire spider web. Omega sent out a tweet saying that he was injured and not cleared to compete at this week’s television show. It is not clear if this is real or a storyline, but Omega is not likely for this week’s Dynamite.

They beat the heck out of each other. Check out one of the scariest parts of the match:

Opinion: This had to be expected as there is only so much that you can do to each other and still be expected to go out there and appear on the next television show. I know the match wasn’t for everyone and that is to be expected, but at the same time, something had to be done to keep up the realism after a very violent match. Omega will certainly be back and when he comes back he is going to have a lot to do, likely against Moxley before going after Chris Jericho and the World Title.
