Welcome home. Wrestling is like any other sport, in that the wrestlers are very talented but they are going to need someone to help get them where they are supposed to go. In wrestling, those coaches are known as producers, who help set up the matches and get things where they are supposed to go. That can be easier said than done, but now WWE has another experienced hand back.
One of the bigger stories from a very busy year was the group of WWE releases that took place back in April. Dozens of wrestlers were let go all at once but there were also several agents and producers let go, which made sense given the lack of live events taking place. Those names were told they would be brought back when possible, and now one more of them is indeed back.
According to PWInsider.com, Shane Helms has returned to WWE and is working as a producer again. Helms was backstage at Survivor Series and was working at this week’s Monday Night Raw. This comes after Helms was furloughed in April and has missed several months, during which he made an appearance at AEW Full Gear during Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara’s Elite Deletion match.
He’s been around for a bit. Check out Hurricane in WWE:
Opinion: That’s good to hear as WWE can always use a fresh voice to change things up a little bit. Helms has been around the wrestling world for a long time now and he could keep a position as an agent for years to come. It’s nice to see that some of these people who were let go are being brought back to work, though there are still several names left to go before things are back to normal.
What do you think of Helms? Who else would make a good producer? Let us know in the comments below.
