It’s time to move up to the big time. WWE produces a lot of content. Like, a LOT of content. They put out show after show week after week, with Wednesday alone having three different shows. There’s so much out there that it’s almost hard to know where to start a lot of the time. That problem has been going on for a long time now and it seems that it might be getting even worse.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been talk of expanding NXT into a two hour show from its current one hour format, simply due to how many people NXT currently has under contract. This would likely be the case if NXT is picked up by FOX as part of the new television deal. Should that be the case, there is a chance that the show could expand to an hour and a half or into two one hour shows. There is no word on when this might take place.
I could however go for more of this.
Opinion: I really, really hope this doesn’t happen. NXT has figured out how to do everything so well that I don’t want to see them screw it up. One of the major positives about NXT has been the fact that they’re not on several hours a week and there’s little benefit to adding in more content that would only water things down. It’s one of the few things that WWE does well and I don’t want that to go away.
