Maybe later? There are certain ways to bring back a returning wrestler and some of them can make for some very successful moments. One of the best is to have someone come back in a big moment and show what they can do now that they are back. That was almost the case this week but for one reason or another, the idea was scrapped. Now we know what could have been.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Do It Again? WWE Hall Of Famer Open To One More Match….In AEW
As previously reported, Vince McMahon changed the opening segment of this week’s Monday Night Raw by scrapping a planned Seth Rollins open challenge. Instead, Rollins was attacked and laid out by #1 contender Finn Balor. According to Fightful Select, Tommaso Ciampa was originally planned to answer Rollins’ challenge for a match scheduled to get “a lot of time” and end with a non-finish. Instead, Ciampa came out and defeated Miz, who issued an open challenge of his own. Those people around the planned Ciampa vs. Rollins match were said to be “clearly frustrated” by the change.
This could have been something. Check out what we got, and what we could have gotten:
Opinion: This is something that has me interested, as Ciampa’s return could have been an even bigger deal than it wound up being. Ciampa being back is great on its own, but having him do that much more could have been even better. I could go for seeing this match take place again later, and there is always a chance that WWE could run it when they get the chance in the right situation.
