Nope: Former WWE Superstar Confirms Retirement

She’s out. Retirement is a very tricky concept in wrestling as you never know when a wrestler will be completely done in the ring. Even after years away from wrestling, there is always the chance that someone might jump back in for one more match. Occasionally wrestlers will actually stay away though, and now another star is saying that is what she plans to do.

AJ Lee has been retired from the ring since 2015, with her last match coming at WrestleMania 31. Since then she has mainly stayed away from wrestling, though she is an executive producer and commentator for Women Of Wrestling. Lee has recently posted a new series of photos of herself to Instagram, with one caption saying “retired athlete”, seemingly confirming that her in-ring career is over.

Opinion: If Lee wants to be done in the ring and is ready to be finished then good for her for getting to go out on her own terms. She accomplished quite a bit in her time in the ring and now she seems to be getting to do what she wants in WOW. Not a lot of wrestlers get to do something like that and it is great to see her walking away like this on her own terms alone.
