I’d call it a big compliment. There are wrestling stars who move over to mainstream entertainment and then there is the Rock. After becoming one of the biggest wrestling stars of all time, he moved over to Hollywood and became the biggest star in the world. That being said, he still has a lot of respect for wrestling and is more than willing to talk about the past.
Despite being such a huge star in wrestling the Rock did not actually spend that much time in the business. He debuted in November 1996 at Survivor Series and was practically done as a full time wrestler at Summerslam 2002. That is less than six years and he had a few long hiatuses during that time. He did wrestle with the best though, but who did he see the most in?
During a recent episode of his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T. offered praise to the Rock, saying that the Rock was the greatest of all time on the microphone. The Rock responded to the statements on Twitter, saying that Booker T. was the best pure athlete that Rock was ever in the ring with, which is why Booker T. is a Hall of Famer. Rock and Booker T. mainly feuded in 2001, headlining Summerslam 2001 against each other.
Thank you, brother for this high praise. @BookerT5x will always be the BEST pure athlete performer I’ve ever had the honor for sharing the wrestling ring with. His athleticism, in ring timing and intensity was unmatched. It’s why he’s a @WWE Hall of Famer. https://t.co/zYxsKZJ1JY

They have some history with each other. Check out one of their best moments:
Opinion: That’s quite the level of praise and really, it’s hard to argue with what Rock says. Booker T. really was one of the most impressive performers as he almost never had a bad match against anyone. The two of them had chemistry together and getting to headline Summerslam is quite the accomplishment. The Rock was in there with the best and to be on top of that list is pretty impressive.
What did you think of Rock vs. Booker T.? What was Booker T.’s best match? Let us know in the comments below.
