You would expect him to be there. AEW is certainly on a roll to start as it picks up one piece of talent after another. They’ve already put together a heck of a lineup with more names being added pretty rapidly. There’s still room for more talent to be added to the roster, though it turns out that one name you probably expected to be there won’t be around just yet.
Recently, a fan tweeted to Joey Ryan, asking if he was going to be joining AEW. Ryan responded, saying that he is currently under contract to Lucha Underground and therefore can’t sign. He did however say that he was excited to see more jobs and competition throughout the wrestling industry. Ryan was a part of All In and has appeared on episodes of Being The Elite.

Ryan can be….different. Check out some of his greatest hits:
Opinion: I’m rather surprised by Ryan not signing, but at least there’s a very simple reason for it. Lucha Underground contracts tend to be very long so there’s a chance we won’t see Ryan anywhere else for the time being. He seems like the perfect fit for AEW, but he might be a bit too comedy oriented for them. If he gets to work there one day then great, but for now he’s going to have to watch like the rest of us.
