So long? There are a lot of different ways to present wrestling stories and some of them are going to be more successful than others. Several of them involve winning and losing matches in one way or another, but there are a few that involve losing over and over. Sometimes these end badly, and that might be the case with a storyline currently taking place on NXT.

There are some wrestlers where you see star power as soon as they appear on screen. That is the kind of thing you don’t get to see very often because they are few and far between. It seemed to be the case with Austin Theory, who came off like a near prodigy in his early 20s. Some real life issues with the SpeakOut Movement slowed him down a bit (as they should) but now he is back, though not quite in the same way.

This week on NXT, Theory was defeated by Bronson Reed. Following the match, Theory said that he was not leaving until he defeated Reed, who then beat Theory in less than fifteen seconds. Later in the night, Theory walked out and said that he quit NXT. There is no word on where this is leading for Theory, who has only been back in NXT since September, following a three month run on Monday Night Raw.

It was a rough night. Check out what happened to Theory:

Opinion: I don’t get the appeal of losing streak stories. In theory it allows them to rise back up later on with a little change to what they are doing, but more often than not, it tends to be a situation that just makes someone feel like a loser. Maybe Theory is a different situation, but having him lose over and over again and then quit isn’t exactly the best look.

What do you expect from Theory? Where is the story going? Let us know in the comments below.
