That was the case this week, as some last minute changes had to be made.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Do Better: WWE Wrestlers Reportedly Upset Over Specific Release Last Week
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Nick Jackson defeat Claudio Castagnoli and Brian Cage in a triple threat match to become the new #1 contender to the International Title. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the match was added later in the afternoon, with Jackson not expecting to wrestle. In addition, Rey Fenix was not cleared to face Jeff Jarrett until late in the afternoon, though the match did ultimately take place.

Opinion: The show did feel a bit off, but what matters most is the fact that they got everything together as well as they did. The last minute changes are not the best sign, but as long as they get everything on the show and it winds up working out, things could have been a lot worse. Jackson didn’t seem to be that far out of his normal place, despite not wrestling his usual style.
