Maybe there is a trend here. Back in 1999, former wrestler and broadcaster Jesse Ventura became Governor of Minnesota in a pretty big surprise. Last year, Kane became the Mayor of Knox Count, Tennessee. Maybe it’s a bald thing, but maybe it’s something about wrestlers being politicians. As it turns out, another wrestler has been named to another political office.

According to Orlando Weekly, former Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champion and WWE superstar Matt Morgan has been elected the Mayor of Longwood, Florida. Longwood, with a population of about 13,000, has a non-traditional method of naming a mayor, as the City Commissioners vote on the office. Morgan, who has been a City Commissioner since 2017, was elected unanimously and may be the country’s tallest mayor at 7’ tall.

You might not remember this one. Check out Morgan’s time in WWE:

Opinion: I don’t know if it’s something in the wrestling water but this kind of thing keeps happening and that’s rather cool. Morgan seems to be an articulate and well read person so hopefully he does well as the mayor. If nothing else, he might be onto something with the tallest mayor in the country thing, as he is slightly taller than Kane. Well done on the election and good luck.
