One more for the card. We’re less than two weeks away from Money in the Bank and that means it’s time to start getting the card set up. Of course we have the two namesake ladder matches and a pair of World Title matches, but there is a little more to it than that. You have to fill in the rest of the show somehow, and WWE took a step towards that goal tonight.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Rey Mysterio challenging Samoa Joe for the United States Title was added to the Money in the Bank card. This match comes a week after Mysterio pinned Samoa Joe in a non-title match, which served as a rematch from WrestleMania 35 when Samoa Joe defeated an injured Mysterio with the Koquina Clutch. Mysterio has never held the United States Title.

This would be round three. Check out round two:

Opinion: It makes sense, though I could have gone with something a little better than trading wins to get Mysterio a title shot. You can’t have him pin anyone but the champion to get this match? The match should be fine as both of them can be healthy and the addition of Mysterio’s son should help things out a bit, but it’s still not the best booking in the world.
