Weathering the football storm. Last night, “Monday Night Raw” was up against even more big time competition, this time in the form of the NCAA National Championship football game, which started at the same time. It was almost a given that the numbers would be down but the question was by how much.

According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw” drew a .9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.76 million viewers. These numbers are down 7% and 4% respectively from last week’s .97 rating and 2.865 million viewers. They are are virtually even with the December 18th episode, which was the last non-holiday edition.

Opinion: Much like the Christmas night and New Year’s Day shows, this isn’t the worst result in the world for the show. The numbers aren’t that far off what the show normally does and that’s a very good sign. Football is officially off WWE’s radar starting next Monday so we can actually see where the numbers go. The fact that they haven’t gone down is a positive sign though and that’s what matters.
