To the pay window! This year’s “Money in the Bank 2017” pay per view featured the first ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. After the Women’s Revolution took the company by storm last year, this is quite the milestone for the division and wrestling as a whole. That just leaves the big question of who won the thing.

As it turns out, Carmella became the first Miss Money in the Bank as she defeated Natalya, Charlotte, Tamina and Becky Lynch to win the briefcase. The ending was a bit controversial though as James Ellsworth was the one to climb the ladder and throw the case down to Carmella, which was ruled as a fair victory.

Opinion: Really bad ending aside, this was the pick that a lot of people had and it’s not the biggest surprise. Carmella is someone who could be a big player and seems like a natural heel, which is something the division can always need. Charlotte and Lynch will be back and the other two aren’t likely to ever get near the title.

James Ellsworth is ready for the first Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: June 18, 2017
