So much for that. With the Royal Rumble out of the way, we have a much clearer path towards WrestleMania 37. The biggest show of the year is about two and a half months away, meaning that we are going to be seeing a lot of the card coming together. At the same time, that means we are going to be seeing some names finding out what they are going to do. One of the biggest names ever won’t be around though.
While he might not exactly be involved with WWE most of the time these days, there is no denying that John Cena is one of the biggest stars of all time. Cena has since moved onto Hollywood and is rapidly becoming a bigger star in the acting world. This includes a miniseries on his character from The Suicide Squad, but that is going to alter a potential WWE appearance.
Cena was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated and confirmed that he will not be at WrestleMania 37. Cena is currently filming the Peacemaker series in Vancouver, Canada, meaning that he would be required to quarantine for two weeks due to Coronavirus restrictions should he return to the United States for the series, putting the entire series on hold. The series will be shooting until July. There is no word on when Cena’s next match or WWE appearance will take place.
Cena has quite the WrestleMania history. Check out some of his better moments at the show:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised by this as Cena has quite the acting career these days and isn’t going to be able to go back to WWE very often. As he said, you can’t pause a major production for two weeks for the sake of going for a one off match. I understand the appeal for wrestling fans, but Cena has become such a big star that wrestling just doesn’t matter as much as some of the other things he can do.
