It Makes Sense. New Title Match Set For Summerslam.

Let’s try this again. The United States Title is one of the older titles in WWE and that brings some prestige with it. At the same time, it helps when you have a lot of people fighting over it, which makes the title that much more valuable. It has been going through a lot of changes over the last few months and now we might be looking at another at next month’s Summerslam.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Ricochet won a five man gauntlet match to become the new #1 contender for the United States Title, currently held by AJ Styles. The match also included Rey Mysterio, Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Andrade, with Ricochet defeating Andrade to win the match. Styles defeated Ricochet to win the title at Extreme Rules to end Ricochet’s first title reign.

Opinion: This was the logical path to take to get to the rematch so there aren’t any complaints there. Ricochet can get his win and the title back on the big stage of Summerslam with Styles putting him over and making a big star in the process. Ricochet won a fun match to get there also, which I prefer over people just being handed title shots as they were for years.
