Major Title Match Set For October 28

Better late than never. The Coronavirus pandemic has canceled all kinds of wrestling events around the world and that is likely to be the case for a long time to come. You can only run so many major events under the current situations but WWE is starting to find a way around the situation by running events without fans. That means we are going to be seeing some bigger matches on smaller shows, which is the case again later this month.

There are a lot of things going on in WWE at the moment and one of the best is Walter as the United Kingdom Champion. Walter came into NXT UK as one of the biggest stars in the promotion and went on to dethrone Pete Dunne in a hurry. He has held the United Kingdom Title for over a year now but hasn’t defended it in several months. That will be changed in just a few weeks.

This week on NXT UK, a United Kingdom Title match was announced for the October 29 show with Walter defending against Ilja Dragunov. This match was originally set up in April when Dragunov won a twenty man battle royal to become the new #1 contender to the title. The match was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic but was built up again once the show returned to normal.

Opinion: I’m glad that we are getting this match as I wanted to see it as soon as it was announced. Walter has had one classic match after another in NXT UK and Dragunov could give him a heck of a challenge. The match feels like something big and since NXT UK is not likely to run a Takeover anytime soon, this is about all they can do at the moment and that’s a lot better than nothing.
