It’s Long Overdue. Tag Team Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame

Yes, yes, yes. We’re fully in Hall of Fame season and that means we get some names that you wouldn’t likely have thought of in recent memory. That’s often a good thing as there are wrestlers or personalities who deserve some extra recognition. We’re getting such a thing with the latest inductees, who really were one of the best tag teams of all time, especially in their era.

As announced on WWE.com, Harlem Heat will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019. The team, comprised of Booker T. and his brother Stevie Ray, won ten WCW Tag Team Titles, the most of all time, from 1994-1999, which included a two year hiatus. The team continued to wrestle occasionally on the independent circuit after WCW closed. Booker T. was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a singles wrestler in 2013 with Ray inducting him.

Opinion: This is one of those teams where you don’t think about them for a long time but then see their names listed for induction and wonder how they weren’t in yet. Harlem Heat was one of the best tag teams WCW ever had and launched Booker T. into stardom. I’m not sure what took so long to get them inducted but it’s something long overdue. If nothing else, it’s cool to see Booker T. as a two time Hall of Fame inductee, both of which are well deserved.
