It was a great run. The proper trainer and wrestling school can make or break a wrestler’s career. If you have someone who has no idea what they are doing teach you how to wrestle, it might be a long time before you get a serious look. On the other hand, if you get training from a respected name, you already have one foot in the door. However, one of the more prominent trainers will be closing up shot this year.
As announced on his Twitter page, Lance Storm will be closing the Storm Wrestling Academy later this year, with his final class beginning in September. There is no word on why Storm is closing his academy, but he does say that he will be continuing in the business. He is currently working as a producer in Impact Wrestling. The Academy, which opened in September 2005, has trained names such as Peyton Royce, Oney Lorcan, Tyler Breeze and Tenille Dashwood among others.

There have even been matches at the Academy. Check out a match taped at the facility in 2007:
Opinion: Storm is someone who had a nice career of his own but might have made a bigger impact by training than his in-ring career. He has a lot of knowledge to impart to various students and has quite a bit of success over the years. There are a lot of places for him to work in the industry and I’m sure he will be able to get a job in any promotion he wants as that kind of knowledge is very valuable.
