Something crossed the line. Every now and then, something happens that is going to make a lot of people mad. It may or may not be their fault, but if someone does something that ruins a good thing for a lot of people at once, it is not going to end well no matter what. That seems to be the case at the moment, as someone involved in WWE may have just brought down a rather lucrative system.
Friday was a very busy day but one of the biggest stories to break was Vince McMahon banning all wrestlers from using third party platforms. This did not seem to go over well for the wrestlers, who were using the platforms to make some extra money as there have been no live events throughout the summer. It turns out that there was one moment which caused McMahon to change his mind.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the final straw for McMahon was a series of commercials that Lana made for Bang Energy Drink on Instagram. It is not clear why these were what made McMahon go over the edge on the concept, but after Lana posted three of them in under a month, with the most recent coming on August 26, McMahon decided to change the rules. There is no word on any reaction from Lana or what other wrestlers think about her involvement.
The commercials are a bit racy. Check out some of Lana’s WWE work instead:
Opinion: If this is the case, I feel rather sorry for Lana’s career prospects. She has not been anything of note on WWE TV for a long time now and is really little more than a lackey for Natalya. That might be enough to keep her around, but if this is how things went down, she is not exactly going to be popular in WWE. Hopefully McMahon changes his mind again (it wouldn’t be the first time) because this is a big hit for a lot of wrestlers who were doing what a lot of other people have been doing.
Will McMahon change his mind? How will this impact Lana’s career? Let us know in the comments below.
