The future is now. Drew McIntyre has been the WWE Champion since April when he won the title at WrestleMania 36. He has held the title for more than five months and shows no signs of slowing down. McIntyre has become one of the biggest stars in all of WWE and could hold the title for a long time to come. That is assuming he can keep retaining it over his challengers, and we might know who his challenger will be for the next several months.

Back in August, McIntyre defeated Randy Orton at Summerslam in a rather close match. McIntyre got the pin off of a backslide, which is not exactly the most dominant way to retain the title. Orton was right back eight days later as he won a triple threat match to earn the title shot at Clash Of Champions. It turns out that won’t be the last time these two are going to be facing off.

According to Tom Colohue of SportsKeeda, McIntyre and Orton are scheduled to continue their feud for the next several months, including a match inside Hell In A Cell in October and at Survivor Series in November. There is no word on if Orton is scheduled to win the title at any point during their feud. WWE has yet to announce the location for either Hell In A Cell or Survivor Series.

They have been here before. Check out what you are going to see more of:

Opinion: That is quite the long feud and I really can’t imagine Orton not winning the title at some point. Eventually you have to give him something in the feud or he is just someone who keeps losing over and over again. This schedule would see four different pay per view matches between them, which is going to be a stretch no matter what. If Orton does not win at some point in there, the whole thing loses a lot of interest and impact in a hurry.
