Welcome back. There are a lot of people under the WWE banner and that means that it can be rather difficult to figure out how to present all of them at the same time. That can make for some rather difficult situations and there are all kinds of people who are sitting around on the sidelines. WWE might not have much room for a lot of people, but they have another place to send someone else for a week.
NXT is in a bit of a weird place in the WWE structure as it is both the developmental territory for WWE but also its own television show with a national broadcast. That means WWE has to put some effort into keeping things interesting on the show and that can occasionally mean bringing in some guest stars. That is what they are doing next week, but it won’t be in the ring.
This week on NXT, it was announced that former NXT Champion Kevin Owens will be returning to the show as a color commentator to replace Wade Barrett. There is no word on why Barrett will be gone or if he will be gone longer for more than a single week. Owens wrestled in NXT from 2014 – 2015 and did return last year to take part in the WarGames match.

Owens has a history in NXT. Check out what he has done around there:
Opinion: Cool. I’m not sure how else to describe it, other than a bit confusing that the only thing WWE can find for Owens to do is send him to NXT for commentary. Owens can talk rather well and will do just fine in the role, though it’s just kind of a random surprise. Hopefully it is just for a week though, as Owens is the kind of wrestler who should be able to do something a little higher profile than this.
What do you think of the move? What is next for Owens? Let us know in the comments below.
