His time isn’t up. As previously announced, John Cena made his return to WWE TV this week as he opened up Smackdown Live. After not having been around for a few months, Cena had a lot to say, but one thing was a bit bigger than the rest and gave us a good idea of where Cena is going next.

Near the end of his speech, Cena made it very clear that he wants to challenge for the Smackdown World Title at Royal Rumble 2017.

Should Cena get the title match and win the title again, it would be his sixteenth World Title reign, tying him with Ric Flair for the most World Title reigns in professional wrestling history.

Cena last held a World Title in 2014 when he was the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Eh it’s Cena. I know he’s not a full time wrestler anymore but he knows how to bring it in the big matches. The World Title scene is a little dry right now on the blue show and Cena is the perfect fit for a short term reign, even if that reign doesn’t start until Orlando. It’s not like he doesn’t deserve a title shot right off the bat so throw him in there with someone and let them tear the house down.

Are you glad that Cena is back? Do you want to see him win the title again? Let us know in the comments below.
